Question by emignatius: Where can I buy a replacement key with plastic hinge for dell inspiron 1525?

The plastic hinge broke and the lock on the key of my delete key also got busted while trying to take out the center cover of the notebook. I only need the gray delete key with a type A plastic hinge. I believe the inspiron 1525, M1330, 1520, 1420, 1526 use the same keys so any of that will do. Thanks for your answer.

If one of the users can supply you with keys from a defunct laptop, then IT IS possible to replace just those keys. However, it is quite nerve wracking to replace keys on a laptop keyboard. I have done it for customers, but don’t recommend unless you are extremely skilled and capable of delicate work with your hands. An entire replacement keyboard can be purchased from DELL for approx. to including shipping in the USA. You WILL HAVE to call one of their telephone numbers to order. Please have your Service Tag available for the customer representative. DELL puts the Service Manuals for their products on their website. Enter your Service Tag and select manuals.
